Welcome to PROGRADE LANDSCAPING, a new company backed by over 15 years of professional landscaping experience.
Prograde specializes in custom hardscaping as well as beautifully designed, installed, and maintained gardens, we strive to bring your outdoor vision to life. Our dedication to customer satisfaction and clear, fast communication ensures a seamless enjoyable experience from start to finish.
My Name is Brys Bauer and i pride myself on building strong relationships within the Warkworth, and Northumberland County community through my commitment to honesty, trust, hard work, and a variety of volunteer work including coaching teams for the Warkworth Bulldogs. The decision to start my own business comes on the heels of acquiring a vast amount of sustainable landscaping techniques, and practices that will turn your space into a functional, beautiful oasis with planting structure and hardscape designs that will grow with you and remain a lasting feature you can be proud of.

Standard Operating Procedures
Listed below are descriptions of how each service is performed to ensure your project is build with quality materials and workmanship to last a lifetime.
Retaining Walls
Excavated 12" below grade with 200% overdig behind and 50% overdig in front for stable base shoulders. Compacted aggregate base in uniform lifts. install perforated sock tile at the walls heel to relieve hydrostatic pressure. Backfill with 3/4" clear stone on a 45 degree angle to 6" below top of wall, then wrap stone with non-woven geotextile to separate soil and drainage zone.
Drainage & Grading
Remove sod or debris and set subgrades using commercial grade lazer transit for positive slope away from strucutres. Shape swales or contours to direct water to outlets. If required instal perforated tile in graded trenches bacfilled with 3/4" clear stone separated from soils with geotextiles. Finish grading compacted for smooth finish. Completed with either seed or sod at clients request.
Pedestrian Paver instal
Excavate area for 8" of base, 8-10" overdig beyond edges. Compacted graded aggregate in lifts, using geotextile if soil stabilization is needed. Screed 1" bedding layer of screenings or HPB, then lay pavers to design layout. Compact surface, sweep polymeric sand into joints and secure edges to prevent paver shifting.
Gardening
Garden beds edged uniformly to define borders, remove weeds and vegetation by hand or mechanically, applying weed barrier if specified. 3" of mulch spread evenly to retain soil moisture and suppress weeds, keeping it away from plant stems and trunks. Raked clean for a smooth finished appearance
Vehicular traffic pavers
Excavate 14-18" below grade with a 12" overdig for stable shoulders. Instal Geotextile (drivegrid) then place and compact aggregates in lifts. Same as pedestrian pavers, a 1" bedding layer is added and pavers are installed to the design pattern, edge restraint and polymeric sand are added and the surface is compacted to lock in the pavers.
Hedge Trimming
Hedges are pruned to maintain natural form and encourage healthy growth rather than over over-shearing. cuts are made with sharp,clean tools to avoid tearing, always trimming slightly wider at the base to allow sunlight to reach lower branches. Dead, diseased, or crossing branches are selectively removed. Clippings are collected and removed from site leaving a tidy, healthy, beautiful plant.
